The JOVS Red Light Therapy Bra extends red and near-infrared light across the breast area in a comfortable wearable design. The goal is twofold: support the appearance and quality of the skin at the surface while delivering near-infrared light into deeper tissue.
More Than Skincare — And Made to Be Worn
There’s an obvious skincare reason to use red light on the breast and décolleté area: this skin ages too.
Loss of collagen and elasticity, crepey texture and changes in skin firmness don’t stop at the neckline. The same photobiomodulation principles that make red light interesting for facial skincare can therefore be relevant below the neck.
But JOVS designed the bra to go beyond surface skincare. JOVS also positions its red and near-infrared technology for microcirculation, tissue wellness and everyday breast comfort, including feelings of tenderness and fatigue.

Why Red and Near-Infrared Light?
Red and near-infrared light therapy works through a process called photobiomodulation, or PBM. Rather than removing, heating or damaging tissue, specific wavelengths of light are absorbed by cells and can influence biological processes involved in cellular energy production, circulation, inflammatory signaling and tissue repair.
The two wavelengths in the JOVS bra serve somewhat different purposes.
Red Light — Skin Firmness & Elasticity
660 nm red light is more strongly absorbed in superficial tissue. Red-light photobiomodulation has been widely investigated for its effects on cellular activity, fibroblast activity, collagen production, skin health and tissue repair.
For the breast and décolleté area, that makes it particularly relevant to visible concerns such as skin texture, elasticity and firmness.
Near-Infrared — Deeper Tissue Wellness
850 nm near-infrared light travels farther into tissue than visible red light. Near-infrared wavelengths are commonly used in photobiomodulation when the intended effects extend beyond the skin’s surface.
JOVS positions this deeper-reaching wavelength as part of the bra’s broader breast-wellness function, including support for microcirculation, tissue wellness and everyday breast comfort.
You won’t see 850 nm light glowing because near-infrared is outside the range of light visible to the human eye.
Think of 660 nm red light as concentrating more of its energy closer to the surface, while 850 nm near-infrared light travels farther into tissue. Combining the two allows light therapy to interact with tissue at different depths.

No. Photobiomodulation depends on several factors, including wavelength, irradiance, treatment time and total light dose. More light is not automatically better, which is why devices should be used according to their recommended treatment protocols.
Is near-infrared light invisible?
Yes. Near-infrared falls outside the portion of the electromagnetic spectrum humans can see. A device can therefore be producing near-infrared light even though you cannot see that wavelength glowing.
Is this only a skincare device?
